Recently, women choosing to elope after being stranded in failed and unhappy marriages have been surfacing. Many of the women whose experiences have come to light leaving behind not just their spouses, but also their children, for whom this can have a devastating impact on their developing minds.
According to reports, a married woman eloped with a man many years younger than her. Some say that he used to regard her as his mother.
Dhruba Jyoti Talukdar, 27, eloped with Shatrungha Chauhan, a native of Kalapahar, Guwahati.
Previously, Dhruba Jyoti regarded and respected the 43-year-old lady as his mother, according to reports. The lady is the mother of two children.
Police have filed a case and launched an investigation in connection with the case, but they have not been located as of the date of publication of this report.
According to sources, such elopement incidents are on the rise in the city. Some dishonest people target the ladies of wealthy families and form friendships with them in various ways before eloping.
In another such incident, a 29-year-old mother of three children elopes with a 15-year old 8th standard kid.
The two have yet to be found, and the boy's family has filed a formal complaint with the Campierganj police station.
Both families looked for the two until Thursday, according to the information. They approached the police on Friday evening, and a first information report (FIR) was filed, and an investigation was launched. According to sources, the woman and the youngster had been dating for a year but no one suspected them due to their age difference.
Her husband informed the cops that her behaviour toward him had altered for a while, but he couldn't picture such a thing happening.
In another bizarre incident, a village in Odisha witnessed a dramatic wedding that was no less than a Bollywood flick. The would-be bride eloped with her boyfriend on her wedding day and this resulted in humiliation to the bride's family who later chooses to marry off their second daughter who is a minor and studying in Class 10.
Meanwhile, as the news of the wedding spread far and wide it also came to the notice of the district administration who swung into action.
The CDPO along with the police reached the groom's house in Tentulikhunti village under Kalampur block and rescued the minor girl.
