LAKHIMPUR: In order to prevent from possible infection of COVID-19, a woman living at Ghilamora under Dhakuakhana subdivision of Lakhimpur district has been making masks from gamosa day and night. Moreover, the woman has been distributing such masks among the children of her local area in order to protect them from the infection of the pandemic and she is selling them at low price to others. Notably, the people across the State have used the mask at present as a protective measure against pandemic COVID-19. Due to the increasing demand of masks, they are not easily available in the markets of Lakhimpur as well as Ghilamora at present. Under such circumstances, Sulekha Hazarika, daughter of Prabhat Hazarika, resident of Ghahi Gaon under Ghilamora, started making the masks from gamosa since a week. Till date, she has distributed over 200 masks free of cost among the children and sold many to others at low price. The woman earns her living by running a grocery shop and by doing tailoring work.
