Mass signature drive held at Burha Mayong

Jansankhya Samadhan Foundation Assam Prant in collaboration with the Morigaon District Committee and Jagiroad

GUWAHATI: Jansankhya Samadhan Foundation Assam Prant in collaboration with the Morigaon District Committee and Jagiroad Constituency Committee successfully held its mass signature campaign at the unveiling ceremony of "Bisram Ghar" (Rest House) for old age people at Burha Mayong on Thursday.

Supporting the JSF NE's initiative for the enactment of the population control law, former president of Asom Sahitya Sabha, researcher, scientist, noted littérateur Dr Laxminandan Bora, vice president of Asom Sahitya Sabha Mrinalini Devi, spiritualist Diganta Biswa Sarma among other dignitaries provided their valuable signatures during the campaign and lauded JSF Assam Prant's initiative.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Laxminandan Bora said, "In order to get relief from all sorts of pollution and revive our planet earth; population control should be taken into prime consideration by the Government of India. Population control stands to be a very challenging task not just for India but for the entire world. People of India should stand united for this cause."

Also, Mrinalini Devi through JSF NE appealed before the people of our society to come out and play an important role in protecting our planet from this social cause. JSF NE Chairman Sailendra Pandey, JSF Assam Prant organizing Secretary Subhajit Choudhury, JSF Assam Prant President Siva Prasad Sarma among others were also present at the signature campaign. The members of the JSF have been vehemently demanding a strong and strict enactment of the population control law in the state of Assam and the entire nation since 2017, stated a press release.
