DOOMDOOMA: International Labour Day was celebrated at Doomdooma on Sunday under the aegis of Centre for Indian Trade Union (CITU), Doomdooma Branch and in collaboration with Hindustan Unilever Personal Products Factory (HUL P. P. Factory) Workers' Union. The day's programme began with the hoisting of flag followed by Smriti Tarpan. A procession was taken out at Doomdooma town on this occasion. Later in the day, a meeting was held at Doomdooma Town Field with CITU leader Tarini Deka in the chair. Addressing the gathering CITU leaders Nagen Chutia, Prakash Rajkhowa and several others were highly critical of the government's anti-labour policies and urged the workers to become united against all these. The day was also celebrated by Hindustan Unilever PPF Shramik Sangha at its office premises at Rupai Siding here.
