Meet held for inclusion of new names in ration cards

A meeting was held at the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Golaghat district on Monday between the Deputy Commissioner of Golaghat and officials of the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs.

GOLAGHAT: A meeting was held at the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Golaghat district on Monday between the Deputy Commissioner of Golaghat and officials of the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs.

The meeting discussed in detail the inclusion of new names in ration cards and issuance of new ration cards in the district. It is to be noted that the process is currently underway in the district. The meeting also discussed how to bring the remaining beneficiaries of tea gardens under its ambit.

The issue of adequate supply of rice and other commodities in schools under the Prime Minister’s Poshan Abhiyan was also included in the meeting. Notably, midday meals were introduced in the financial year 2004-05. In September 2021, it was designated as the PM-POSHAN.

From April 2022 onwards, the students of the pre-primary category were covered under the PM Poshan scheme. The meeting was attended by ADC Wasbir Subhani and Sujatha Gogoi, Deputy Director, Department of Food, civil Supplies and consumer affairs, Jitan Gogoi.
