Meeting held to discuss COVID-19 situation in Tinsukia district

TINSUKIA: In view of surging number of COVID-19 infected persons in Tinsukia district, Samprity Goswami, ADC (i/c), Margherita subdivision, convened a meeting on Thursday in the conference hall of the office of the Sub-Divisional Officer with the officials of the Margherita Municipality and Digboi Municipality and members of the various bazaar committees of Margherita and Digboi. The meeting was also attended by other officials of the Civil Department. The latest SOP for COVID-19 was discussed and Goswami urged the members present in the meeting to co-operate with the administration in containing the second wave of COVID -19 virus.

The officials of the respective municipalities were advised to collect the garbage and sanitize the market areas after 6 pm regularly. The members of the bazaar committee were advised to ask individual shopkeepers to keep their shops sanitized, aided with soaps and water for hand wash and maintain proper social distancing in the shops and the market area. The compulsory use of masks was stressed upon and it was stated that the administration would invariably impose fine on the citizens for not adhering to the norms laid by the government.
