KOKRAJHAR: A meeting of the District Paddy Procurement Committee, Chirang, was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Chirang, Narendra Kumar Shah in the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner's office at Kajalgaon on Tuesday.
It was held in the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner Nirmali Baruah, Deputy Director of Food Civil and Consumer Affairs, District Agriculture Officer, Project Director of Panchayat and Rural Development Agency, Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies, District Transport Officer, Assam Food Civil Supplies Corporation Official, Agro Millers and other Stakeholders.
The meeting discussed elaborately about the procurement target for Chirang district, setting up of paddy procurement centres, registration process, storage measures, agreement process and other relevant issues.
Deputy Commissioner of Chirang, Narendra Kumar Shah advised all the members to get involved in the procurement process with full compliance in order to help the farmers to sell their products directly to the government at Minimum Support Price. He also asked officials to generate awareness on the facility made available for the genuine farmers by the government for their benefits.
