DIBRUGARH: A discussion on the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border dispute was held at Joypur IB in Naharkatia in Dibrugarh on Wednesday.
The discussion on Namsang was held during the meeting and the members from Assam-Arunachal visited Namsang to take stock of the situation. Arunachal Pradesh ministers Wangki Lowang, 57 Borduria MLA Wanglin Lowagdong, Tirap Deputy Commissioner Taro Mize, ADC Deomali and DFO Deomali participated in the meeting from Arunachal Pradesh side. Naharkatia MLA Taranga Gogoi, Dibrugarh Deputy Commissioner Biswajit Pegu, Dibrugarh SP Shwetank Mishra, ADC Biswajit Phukan and Naharkatia circle officer Sarat Gogoi participated from Assam's side.
Talking to reporters, Arunachal Pradesh minister Wangki Lowang said, "We have border disputes but through dialogue and discussion, the border disputes will be solved. Our government is committed to solve the border dispute amicably."
Taranga Gogoi said, "We visited the disputed Namsang area and the report will be submitted to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tomorrow. We are sure that this time the border issues between the two states will be resolved."
