Meeting on flood preparedness held in Kamrup district

RANGIA: An important meeting on flood preparedness of the Kamrup district was held at the meeting room of the Integrated District Commissioner’s Office, Amingaon on Monday. Additional District Commissioner of Revenue and Disaster Management Kamrup Pranab Dutta Goswami chaired the meeting. The meeting was attended by the Circle Officers of all the Revenue Circles of the district and the heads of important departments of the district. In the first meeting chaired by District Commissioner Kirti Jalli held on February 23, the District Commissioner directed the Circle Officers to submit a detailed report covering all the areas concerned to deal with the possible floods.

The meeting today reviewed in detail the early preparations for possible floods. The meeting reviewed in detail the flood water advance preparedness already prepared by the Circle Level Task Forces. The district’s circle level working force has already prepared a detailed plan in this regard on March 3 including all field level officers and employees. The detailed presentation of the plan was presented by the Revenue Circle Officers at the meeting. The circle level working force has already prepared necessary plans for boats, food delivery, flood relief, animal feed etc. to be used during the flood emergency. The Additional Commissioner urged the departments involved in the construction work to take necessary steps to complete their construction work within March. He urged the field level officers of the departments to continue liaising with the concerned Circle Officers in this regard.
