Meeting on natural calamities held in Biswanath

BISWANATH CHARIALI: Deputy Commissioner of Biswanath district Deba Kumar Mishra has directed the concerned departments to take all necessary steps to reduce the intensity of the natural calamities like floods in the coming days. On the initiative of the District Disaster Management Authority, a review meeting was held on Tuesday in the conference hall of the Office of the Deputy Commissioner. This special review meeting discussed the measures to be taken by the administration during the flood season in Biswanath district. The meeting was attended by the representatives of the concerned departments of the district and was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Deba Kumar Mishra. In the meeting, each department was instructed to prepare its plan for flood control and also to hand it over to the District Disaster Management Authority. As per the Assam Disaster Management Manual, all aspects of dealing with the related issues such as identification of relief camp locations, providing relief material, etc., were discussed in detail. During the discussion, special emphasis was also laid on having a special room for the child in each aid camp.
