SIVASAGAR: Under the aegis of District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Sivasagar, in association with Sivasagar District Administration, a mega legal services camp was organized at the premises of Durga Puja Mandap, Kharahat Bagan, Demow in Sivasagar district on Sunday.
Through the camp, the people are informed about the various welfare schemes being implemented under different government departments of the district and also provided details of such schemes. Besides, all the beneficiaries are assisted in opening Aadhaar cards, Zero Deposit Bank Accounts etc. in the camp.
Madhurjya Narayan, District & Sessions Judge and Chairperson of District Legal Services Authority, Sivasagar, delivered the welcome speech at the meeting, which was attended by more than a thousand people and officials of various departments.
The meeting was attended by Megha Nidhi Dahal, Deputy Commissioner, Sivasagar and Rakesh Roushan, Superintendent of Police, Sivasagar.
In his keynote address, Chairperson of Assam State Legal Services Authority and Seniormost Judge of Guwahati High Court N Kotishwar Singh elaborated on the topic entitled "Justice for All".
Participating in the meeting, Ashwini Doley, Chief Executive Officer of Sivasagar Zila Parishad also addressed the gathering. Barnani Goswami, Secretary, Sivasagar District Legal Services Authority, delivered the vote of thanks.
