Member (Hydro), CEA MAKP Singh visits Subansiri Lower Project

Representatives of contractors of major works also briefed about the progress and construction schedule of all the balance activities at individual fronts.

LAKHIMPUR: MAKP Singh, the Member (Hydro), Central Electricity Authority, Government of India, Ministry of Power, along with Manoj Tripathi, the Chief Engineer (HPM), CEA, visited NHPC’s 2000MW Subansiri Lower HE Project on Friday to review the ongoing construction activities at different sites of the project.

The Head of the project facilitated the visit of these officials to all the sites of the project. Representatives of contractors of major works also briefed about the progress and construction schedule of all the balance activities at individual fronts.

CEA officials expressed satisfaction on the steps being taken by NHPC at the Diversion Tunnel Inlet area as well as guard wall at Power House. Damages in these areas are due to prolongation of project and scouring below the structures which are constructed for temporary purpose.

CEA officials also took a review meeting on the project wherein Executive Director, SLHEP, Vipin Gupta briefed about the various steps taken to address the challenges in the project. Addressing the NHPC Officials and representatives of contractors of major works in the meeting, Member (Hydro), CEA and CE (HPM), CEA expressed their satisfaction with the progress of work despite distress during COVID-19. All major contractors and NHPC officials resolved to work with maximum zeal to complete the project as per schedule.
