Migrant workers issued medical fitness certificates by Jorhat district administration

JORHAT: For the fourth consecutive day, a total of 6728 migrant workers hailing from Bihar, Odisha, Bengal were issued clean sheet by the Jorhat district administration and the office of Joint Director Health and Family Welfare, Jorhat, for the fourth consecutive day starting from Friday, said Dr. Amrit Kumar Saikia, Joint Director of Health and Family welfare, Jorhat, here on Tuesday. For the past four days, the office of the Joint Director Health witnessed a heavy rush with people seeking fitness certificates to travel back to their home State by train or by bus. The Centre and the State in a joint initiative with the district administration were doing their very best and to send them back to their homeland. It is almost in the final stage and for them the date and day will be decided by the administration in days to come, said Dr. Pritam Das, an official from the department here.
