Minister Atul Bora distributes cheques of rehabilitation grant in Nagaon district

Along with the rest of the State, the Nagaon district administration also ceremonially started the distribution of cheques of rehabilitation grant

NAGAON: Along with the rest of the State, the Nagaon district administration also ceremonially started the distribution of cheques of rehabilitation grant among the 15,200 flood hit families here at a function held at Nagaon district library auditorium on Saturday. The State Agriculture Minister Atul Bora graced the occasion as the chief guest and ceremonially inaugurated the distribution of cheques of rehabilitation grant in the district. The minister also ceremonially inaugurated the 'Orunodoi Month' that will be observed from August 20 to September 20 in the district.

In press note issued by district information and public relations department, it was stated that the government ensured 378 beneficiaries with a cheque of Rs 95,100 each for their fully or severely damaged houses while the cheque of Rs 4100 each was ascertained for 1830 beneficiaries for their partially damaged huts in the district during the last waves of flood. Besides, cheques of Rs 2100 each were also ensured for 1268 beneficiaries for partially damaged cattle sheds in the district.

Meanwhile, cheques of Rs 3200 each were scheduled to be distribute among 11,379 beneficiaries for partially damaged their kuchha houses while cheques of Rs 5200 each were fixed for 345 beneficiaries for their partially damaged pucca houses. The minister ceremonially distributed the cheques of Rs 95100 each among five beneficiaries of the district in the programme today and the rest would be distributed categorically later on by the district administration, the press note added. Former Union Railway Minister for State and senior BJP leader Rajen Gohain, DC Narendra Kumar Shah and other officials of district administration were present in the programme.
