GOALPARA: State Agriculture, Veterinary and Border Area Development Minister Atul Bora on Thursday visited the Goalpara district in order to take stock of the preparations of the Bihu dancers who are scheduled to participate on April 14 at the Sarusajai stadium in front of the Prime Minister.
Atul Bora, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Khanindra Choudhury and other officers visited the Bihu field of the town where about 200 Bihu artistes are undergoing training for the programme in Guwahati aimed to create a world record.
Later while talking to the media persons, Bora highly praised this effort of the Chief Minister to take Bihu to the world platform. “The world has become a global village. Today, there is no surprise that tourists from all over the world come to Assam to see Majuli, learn Assamese culture etc. We should be proud of it,” said the minister. He also sought cooperation from different parts of life to make it a grand success.
