Minister Bhabesh Kalita distributes food items among safai karmis at Rangia

RANGIA: "Safai karmis are the actual friends of the society. We can't even think about a morning without a safai karmi", said Minister of Irrigation (Independent) Bhabesh Kalita at the Rangia Municipal Board premises on Sunday. The minister distributed food and essential commodities, including hygiene kits, to each and every safai karmi of Rangia area. On the occasion, Champak Deka, Executive Officer of Rangia Municipal Board and other dignitaries were also present.

Kalita said that safai karmis were fighting to protect the public of Rangia area from COVID-19. "So we all must extend our helping hand to them", he said. He advised them to maintain cleanliness and to follow the lockdown guidelines. The minister distributed rice, dal, atta, mustard oil, salt, pulses, potato, onion, biscuits, sugar, tea leaves and masks.
