Minister Naba Kumar Doley distributed revolving and various other funds

LAKHIMPUR: State Panchayat and Rural Development (P&RD) minister Naba Kumar Doley on Thursday took part in the ceremonial distribution of revolving fund and various other funds as chief guest in his native constituency Dhakuakhana.

On this occasion, Assam State Rural livelihood Mission organized a ceremonial programme at Gojai-Monai Kshetra. In the programme, the minister distributed revolving fund to 90 Self Help Groups, start-up costs to 51 rural organizations, start-up cost to one zonal organization and investment fund to 14 rural organizations. ASRLM Lakhimpur district manager Dipika Pegu, social activists Basanta Saikia and BDO of Boginadi Development Block Saleh Hadayet Hussain also took part in the programme.

Then the minister laid the foundation stone for the construction of community hall at Padumoni, which will be constructed with the investment of a fund of Rs. 70 lakh. On the other hand, the minister on Wednesday inaugurated the implementation work of the Brahmaputra erosion protection scheme at Baligaon which will be implemented with a fund Rs 2crore under SDRF. On the same day, the minister also inaugurated the implementation work of Brahmaputra erosion protection scheme at BamuniChapori, Kopchang and Bandana (scheme of Rs. 2 crore) and installation work of geo-tube on Sissi-Tekeliphuta embankment of the Brahmaputra at Jogisuti (scheme of Rs. 1.50 crore).
