DOOMDOOMA: Minister of Transport, Fisheries and Excise, Parimal Shuklabaidya inspected Amrit Sarovar Scheme No. 2 of Tekeri Block under Margherita Development Block, Margherita subdivision in the Tinsukia District on Monday.
He directed the officers concerned to take necessary steps to ensure that the work of Amrit Sarovar scheme was of high quality. Afterwards, the minister visited Tekeri Raidang Anganwadi Centre and took stock of the enrolment and attendance of the students at the centre. He also visited the kitchen of the Anganwadi Centre and asked whether there were enough food items in stock for the children and also interacted with the staff of the Anganwadi Centre.
The minister also visited Tekeri Primary School in Margherita Education Sector. During the visit, the minister interacted with the students of the school. The minister also visited the classrooms, office rooms and kitchen of the school and interacted with the teachers and mid-day meal staff.
Thereafter, he paid a visit to the Paddy Procurement Centre operated by Assam State Agricultural Commodity Marketing Council at Makum in the Tinsukia district. He advised the departmental officers to accept the paddy only after properly checking the quality and directed to create awareness to cover more farmers.
