Minister Parimal Suklabaidya distributes cheques to next of kin of COVID victims

Minister for Environment and Forest, Fisheries and Excise cum Guardian Minister, Parimal Suklabaidya distributed cheques to the next of kin of the COVID-19 victims here on Saturday.

HOJAI: Minister for Environment and Forest, Fisheries and Excise cum Guardian Minister, Parimal Suklabaidya distributed cheques to the next of kin of the COVID-19 victims here on Saturday.

At a function held at the Circuit House at Sankardev Nagar, Minister Suklabaidya ceremonially handed over cheques to the next of kin of eight numbers of COVID victims of the district under the Prarthana scheme. Under the Prarthana scheme of Government of Assam, a one time financial assistance of Rs.one lakh is given to the next of kin of those who succumbed to the COVID-19 disease.

MLAs Ramkrishna Ghosh and Shibu Mishra, Deputy Commissioner, Anupam Choudhury and senior officials of the administration were present on the occasion. Minister Suklabaidya expressed his heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved families on behalf of the Chief Minister and prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls.

The Minister appealed to those who have not taken COVID vaccine to come forward and take the jab immediately. Deputy Commissioner, Choudhury urged the beneficiaries to create awareness in their respective localities so that people take vaccination dose at the COVID Care Centres to keep the dreaded virus at bay.
