DHUBRI: Minister for Environment and Forest, Fisheries and Excise, Parimal Suklabaidya handed over a cheque for Rs.2 lakh from Chief Minister's Relief Fund to ailing former BJP MLA, Dhruba Kumar Sen at his residence in Dhubri on Friday.
Handing over the cheque on behalf of Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma towards the treatment of the ailing MLA, Suklabaidya interacted with him and inquired about his health condition. He also wished him a long and healthy life. Sen thanked the Chief Minister for extending financial help and Minister Suklabaidya for visiting his residence to hand over the cheque.
Later in a tweet, Suklabaidya said, "He has been a guardian figure to all of us and his dedication and service towards the party will continue to inspire all karyakartas." The veteran leader happens to be the first MLA of the BJP from the Brahmaputra valley, stated a press release.
