SILCHAR: Minister for Transport, Excise, and Fisheries Parimal Suklabaidya paid an unannounced visit to Nimati Ghat in Jorhat on Friday morning to inspect the condition of Ro-Pax vessels operating from there. Minister Suklabaidya also inspected the site, took stock of the situation and interacted with the officials and staff. During inspection of the site, the minister issued strict directions to the Inland water transport officials of the ghat to ensure complete safety & security of the passengers as well as run the services on time to avoid any difficulties faced by the passengers.
Minister Suklabaidya also enquired about the condition of all vessels & ferries and directed the technical officials to run periodic check ups of all vessels to avoid any kind of dysfunctionalities.
On Friday, Minister Suklabaidya said, "I also had a detailed discussion to inspect about the condition of the vessels & Ro-Pax vessels plying from here." "I also issued strict directions to ensure timely running of the services so that passengers do not face any difficulties," minister Suklabaidya concluded.
