Minor dies due to alleged negligence of hospital authority in Golaghat

GOLAGHAT: Sensation prevailed after the death of a 16-year-old teenage boy of Tapan Nagar on Saturday.

As per reports, the deceased, Raj Majumdar, son of Nitai Majumdar of Tapan Nagar under Golaghat police station had been suffering from abdominal ache and vomitting and was immediately taken to Swahid Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital. After examination, the doctor advised him to get admitted in the medicine ward.

The family members of deceased levelled an allegation that the particular ward nurses who were on duty at that time denied to admit the patient and asked them to go for COVID-19 tests. The hospital nurses did not agree to provide medical treatment without COVID0-19 tests. The patient was later taken to the COVID-19 testing centre of the hospital where he had to stand in long que. Unfortunately, the patient was not able to do test for COVID-19 and was given medical treatment at home. On Saturday, Raj Majumdar's health worsened and his parents took him to a private nursing home of Golaghat but he was declared dead by the doctor. Father of the deceased, Nitai Majumdar and other family members alleged that due to not providing treatment in Swahid Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital in due time and waste time in the name of COVID tests, the boy lost his live. A few days back, a similar case took place in the hospital where a pregnant lady died due to negligence of treatment in proper time.
