Minor girl dies in Tinsukia after getting vaccinated

The family of the girl has filed an FIR and have demanded proper investigation into the issue

Tinsukia: In a very shocking incident, a minor five-year-old girl from Tinsukia's Lesenka village died after getting vaccinated at a local Anganwadi centre. The tragic incident happened on November 25 in Lesenka village, which is 11 KM from Tinsukia district.

Subhajit Bora, the father of the minor girl took her for vaccination after she had turned five. About 30 minutes later, the little girl began to vomit and started having a fever. She was taken to the Makum Block hospital, however, she could not be saved.

A few days ago, it came into light that drugs which were expired were given at the Makum Railway School in Tinsukia. Even after such an incident, the health department did not take any steps to prevent this kind of incidents.

The locals of the area condemned the Health department of Tinsukia district for their alleged careless attitude.

The family of the minor girl, who died just after getting vaccinated, filed an FIR in the Barekuri Police Station. They have demanded a detailed investigation into the case. The parents of the deceased five-year-old girl have also asked the police to punish the guilty.

A local police officer said that they are awaiting the post-mortem report as it will disclose the actual cause of the death.
