Miscreants Attacks Assam BJP Leader In Nalbari District

The BJP leader from Assam’s Nalbari identified as Rina Talukdar was attacked by two unidentified miscreants who entered her house when no other members of the family was present.

GUWAHATI: On Friday 29 April, some unknown miscreants allegedly attacked a BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) leader in the Nalbari district of Assam.

The incident took place on Friday during night hours in the Bornibari area of Assam's Nalbari district.

The BJP leader has been identified as Rina Talukdar, an active member of the party from Nalbari.

According to reports, on Friday night two unidentified miscreants forcefully entered the residence of Rina Talukdar and attacked her with some sharp weapons.

At that time no one else from the family of Talukdar was present at the house therefore the miscreants managed to enter taking advantage of the situation.

Following the attacks with pointed weapons, the BJP leader has sustained severe head injuries and also suffered injuries in other parts of her body.

Meanwhile, it is reported that Talukdar has been admitted to a private hospital in Nalbari where she is currently receiving medical treatment. Her condition is said to be critical at present.

Earlier in a similar incident, some unknown miscreants in Nalbari attacked a media person from Assam based media organization.

The journalist identified as Rajen Deka was attacked by some pointed weapons while he was returning home late at night. Deka was immediately admitted to the Nalabari civil hospital for initial treatment.

Later the journalist was shifted to the GMCH (Guwahati Medical College Hospital) as his condition got worsened due to the serious injuries following the incident.

During that time it was suspected that some BJP workers are behind the attack on the journalist and the Nalbari Press Club along with Nalbari Journalists' Association condemned the incident.
