BISWANATH CHARIALI: Mission Ramdhenu was formally inaugurated in Biswanath district on Wednesday under which immunization of infants and children will be taken up on a mission mode for seven days for each of the next three months.
Deputy Commissioner of Biswanath, Pranab Kumar Sarmah on Wednesday inaugurated the scheme at Dagaon Anganwadi Centre in Biswanath Chariali town in the presence of Joint Director Health (JDH) and District Immunization Officer (DIO). For the next three months, starting from July 7 to July 13 have been chosen as the seven days to take up immunization of infants and children on a mission mode. "Due to COVID, routine immunization of infants and children was lagging behind as our focus got diverted towards fighting the deadly virus. Mission Ramdhenu will surely help us to expedite immunization of those who were left out in recent months," said the Deputy Commissioner while inaugurating the scheme.
The State Government has set a target of immunizing 2,475 infants and children under 'Mission Ramdhenu' in the next three months for Biswanath district. The Anganwadi workers and Auxiliary Nurses and Midwives (ANMs) have the data of the left out infants and children of each block of the district and they will contact the families and get them immunized at the Health Sub Centres or Anganwadi centres. Infants and children are immunized against at least nine types of diseases as a standard practice.
KOKRAJHAR: The Deputy Commissioner of Chirang, Narendra Kumar Shah on Wednesday launched the Mission Ramdhenu, a special immunization drive under Universal Immunization Programme (UPI), along with introducing a new PCV vaccine in the district in a programme held at Basugaon MPHC (Mini Public Health Center).
As per the order of the Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Assam, the 'Mission Ramdhenu' was also set in motion in Chirang district with innovative and planned approaches with
the aim to administer full immunization of children between 0-5 years and pregnant women who were dropped out or left out from the required vaccination as per UIP schedule due to COVID-19 pandemic or other reasons.
In Chirang district, under 'Mission Ramdhenu', immunization sessions were planned in several places to cover all the dropouts or left-out pregnant women and children with three rounds: Round-1 from May 7 to May 13, round-2 from June 7 to June 13 and round-3 from July 7 to July 13, 2021.
Addressing the public present on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Shah said, "This vaccination is being administered by the government generally for nine life-threatening diseases like diphtheria, whooping cough, Haemophilus influenzae (Type B) (Hib), tetanus, polio, tuberculosis, measles and hepatitis (B) and Japanese Encephalitis. So, people should take this opportunity to immunize their child and pregnant women in these session sites."
In his introductory speech, Joint Director Dr Bordoloi informed that there were 779 dropouts and left out children in Chirang district up to May 2021. The programme was also attended by District Immunization Officer Dr Sonatan Das and other senior medical officers and health workers.
DHUBRI: Dhubri Deputy Commissioner Anbamuthan MP formally launched 'Mission Ramdhenu' in Dhubri on Wednesday. Under this programme, children below two years and expecting women across the district will be immunized.
'Mission Ramdhenu' was launched across the State and will be carried out in three phases to cover each and every child and pregnant woman. Speaking at the launch of the immunization programme, Dhubri District Immunization Officer, Dr. Joydip Bhattacharyya informed that immunization would take place from 7th to 13th of July, August and September, 2021.
"This special immunization is for those children and pregnant women who have been left out in the regular immunization programme," Dr Bhattacharyya said.
Dhubri Deputy Commissioner, Anbamuthan MP and Joint Director of Health Services, Dr. Emdadulla appealed to the people to avail the opportunity of the immunization programme for children and pregnant women and to make this mission a success.
