NEW DELHI: Mizoram MP K Vanlalvena went missing after threatening to kill all Assam Police over a border clash between Assam and Mizoram.
According to reports, a team of Assam Police and CID reached Delhi and issued a notice against Mizoram MP K Venlalvena on Thursday.
Notably, the Delhi Police have also extended help to the Assam Police and CID team on the issue.
Sources also said that the MP is neither at his residence nor at Mizoram House currently.
As per the notice issued by the police, the Mizoram MP is called to be present at the Dhalai Police Station.
Earlier, the top brass of the Assam Police department today informed that "lawful action" against Mizoram MP K Vanlalvena will be taken insight of a recent media interview he gave to a national news agency regarding the ongoing Assam-Mizoram border issue.
The Special DGP, Assam, GP Singh tweeted that a team of Assam Police personnel which also comprises of CBI officials will be heading to New Delhi to take lawful action against MP Vanlalvena for his derogatory remarks regarding the recent Assam Mizo border problem on National Highway 306.
The Special DGP has been on a verbal bout on Twitter against his Mizoram counterpart on July 26. ADGP Singh in one of the tweets revealed that "team including officers of CID are leaving for Delhi to take lawful action relating to the conspiracy behind the incident in light of media interview of Rajya Sabha MP Sri K Vanlalvena indicative of his active role in the conspiracy."
Mizoram MP Vanlalvena, in a recent interview with News Agency ANI, alleged that the Assam Police with its more than 200 personnel had hard-pressed their Mizoram counterparts back from their post. He further told the media that it was Assam Police that gave the firing orders first and that the Mizoram Police officials were simply retaliating against the oppression.
Meanwhile, MP Vanlalvena's interview has been doing the rounds on social media platforms for a while now, since the Assam-Mizoram border row recently flared up in Lailapur.
The Rajya Sabha MP Vanlalvena told the National media that, "They are lucky we don't kill them all. If they come again, we shall kill them all."
