Demow: Moni Kanta Gogoi (82), father of Chakradhar Gogoi, MLA of Moran constituency, passed away at a private hospital in Dibrugarh on Saturday due to heart ailment.
He was born in Lengeri Nakhat Changmai Gaon of the Dibrugarh district. He served the nation as a soldier in the Indian Army. After his retirement, Gogoi was associated with various social works in the Lengeri area. His demise has been widely condoled in the area. He leaves behind his wife, three sons, a daughter and a host of relatives.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has condoled his demise.
