Mobile app 'Pathar Bazar' launched for farmers at Assam Agricultural University (AAU), Jorhat

Launching the app, minister Atul Bora urged the audience, mostly rural farmers, to take advantage of the mobile application.

MANGALDAI: Programmers of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) of Barpeta, Darrang, Kokrajhar and Udalguri districts have developed a mobile app named 'Pathar Bazar' for the benefit of the farmers of the State.

Services like agricultural information of various crops, vaccination schedule and information about animal husbandry, mushroom production technology, improved quality paddy varieties, weather forecast, market news, farmer registration facility, availability of high yielding varieties of seeds have been included in the app in different districts of Assam.

On the inaugural session of the two-day State-level convention of Farmers Producer Companies of Assam Agricultural University (AAU) organized on October 21 in AAU Jorhat, State Agriculture Minister Atul Bora ceremonially launched the app in presence of Minister of Public Health Engineering Department, Jayanta Mulla Barua, Parliamentarian Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, Vice-Chancellor of AAU, Dr Bidyut Chandan Deka, Director of Extension Education, Dr Prasanna Kumar Pathak, and Associate Director of Extension Education, Dr Manoranjan Neog.

Launching the app, minister Atul Bora urged the audience, mostly rural farmers, to take advantage of the mobile application. More than 200 farmers from different parts of Assam participated in the convention.

The developers of the app, Pranabesh Barman, Pranjit Baruah, Mridul Kumar Haloi and Chaynika Nath urged farmers to download the app and avail the benefits from the services. More services will be incorporated in the coming days.
