Moran community in Lekang Assembly constituency Arunachal Pradesh stages protest

TINSUKIA: The Moran community residing in Lekang Assembly constituency Arunachal Pradesh organized a mass gathering and protest rally at Eraloni-Sitpani playground in Namsai district’s Mahadevpur on Thursday demanding a permanent solution to Permanent Residential Certificate (PRC), educational facilities, service reservation etc. from the Government of Arunachal Pradesh.

Organized jointly by All Moran Students’ Union (APC), Moran Jatiya Mohila Parishad (Lekang), Moran Unnayan Parishad (Lekang), Moran Kala Sanskriti Vikash Kendra (Lekang), they stated that the Moran community which constitutes a majority in the constituency and has been residing in the area since time immemorial, is being deprived of PRC and other facilities by the Arunachal government. The protesters later submitted a memorandum to the Arunachal Chief Minister urging him to take up the issues without delay.
