Morigaon MLA Ramakanta Deuri appears in Court over TAC case

MORIGAON: RamakantaDeuri, MLA of Morigaon and chairman of Fish Feed, appeared before the Morigaon court on Monday over alleged misappropriation of Tiwa Autonomous Council (TAC) fund allotted for construction of a statute of Tiwa legend JungalBalahu in Raha constituency.

A case was filed under section 386/18 at Morigaon court by a Tiwa leader, SejoyDeuri after submission of RTI. According to the RTI report, a package of Rs. 30 lakh was allotted in the name of construction of a statute of Tiwa legend JungalBalahu for the year 2010-13 and again Rs. 36 lakh was allotted for the same for the year 2012-13.

The MLA alleged misappropriated Rs. 66 lakh without constructing the statute of JungalBalahu. On Monday, the MLA appeared in the court. The court fixed the next date for the trial.
