Municipal Board Election: BJP wins in 8 wards in Demow

The results of the Municipal Board Election was declared on Wednesday where BJP won in 8 wards and alliance Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) won in 2 wards.

DEMOW: The results of the Municipal Board Election was declared on Wednesday where BJP won in 8 wards and alliance Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) won in 2 wards. In 1 No ward there were a total of 852 electors and among them 562 cast their votes. Gaurav Gogoi (Diku) candidate of alliance AGP got 238 votes, Prandip Neog, independent candidate, got 220 votes, Tribeni Gogoi got 95 votes. There were 9 NOTA votes in 1 No ward. Gaurav Gogoi (Diku) candidate of alliance AGP defeated Prandip Neog, independent candidate, with only 18 votes and there was tough fight between both the candidates.

In 2 No ward there were a total of 609 electors among them 417 electors cast their votes. Nirju Gogoi got 271 votes, Jinti Gogoi Dehingia got 143 votes. There were 3 NOTA votes in 2 No ward. In 3 No ward there were 436 electors and among them 314 cast their votes. Arup Phukan, BJP candidate got 223 votes, INC Candidate Hashna Ara Begum got 90 votes. There was only 1 NOTA vote in 3 No ward.
