NABARD organizes Micro Enterprise Development programme at Chapar

KOKRAJHAR: A valedictory function for trainees of Micro Enterprise Development Programme (MEDP) of NABARD was conducted at Chapar, ward no. III, Chapar Block of Dhubri district.

Sources from NABARD said the programme was graced by Kabita Deka Biswas, Circle Officer, Chapar Block, Ratan Mani Soram, DDM of NABARD, Kokrajhar/Dhubri, Asif Ahmed, DPM, ASRLM, Dhubri, Nural Huda Mollah, BPM-Chapar, ASRLM and Shah Alom Khan, Principal of Chapar Commercial Institute, Chapar.

The MEDP training programme was sanctioned by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) Assam Regional Office, Guwahati to Chapar Commercial Institute, Chapar, Dhubri. Under the MEDP, 15 days training was imparted to 30 SHG members each on tailoring, jute craft and beauty parlour in three batches benefitting a total of 90 SHG members.

Speaking on the occasion, Kabita Deka Biswas, told that in order to survive in this competitive market, one has to upgrade themselves with appropriate skills in respect of design, marketing etc. Ratan Mani Soram, DDM, NABARD told that four MEDPs have been conducted benefiting 120 SHG members in Dhubri district. He also said that one Livelihood Enterprise Development Programme (LEDP) on handloom and weaving for 90 SHG members has been sanctioned for Dhubri district.
