Nagaon:

Ex SP Anand Mishra as New Nagaon SP: Anand Mishra, the new SP of Nagaon, has begun his new posting by helping stranded bus drivers and conductors of Kerala and making them aware of COVID protocol and how they should stay safe. He was seen interacting with the bus drivers and conductors at a bus stand in Nagaon. He was talking to them about the restrictions on travelling due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sources said that 78 buses and 156 drivers along with conductors from Kerala are stuck in Nagaon due to the travel ban.

SP Mishra said that he will provide all the possible measures for the people of Kerala who are stuck in Nagaon to reach their native places. He has been transferred to Nagaon from Dhubri last week and today is his first day as the new SP of Nagaon. Mishra was appreciated for his gesture.

SP Mishra is known for being approachable, supportive, pro-active and for the development work he was doing as SP Dhubri. People of Dhubri loved him as he was always there for him and listened and cared for every issue or complaint they had. The proof of this can be seen in videos that have gone viral of people turning up in large numbers to thank him.

While leaving Dhubri he said, "Dhubri will always be there in my heart, and all the memories and good times will always remain in my heart. Stay safe everyone."

He replaced SO Gurav Abhijit Dilip. SP Dilip is the new SP Dhubri. These transfers are part of the 37 changes made by the Assam government under the newly sworn in Himanta Biswa Sarma government on May 14.

Many youths had gathered in front of the official residence of SP Mishra in Dhubri and also in front of his office with placards in their hands requesting the government to cancel his transfer order. "Mishra sir is an inspirational person for all of us. He always encouraged the youth and guided the new generation in a positive manner," said a youth in Dhubri town.
