Haflong: People of Dima Hasao expressed serious concern over the National Highway Authority of India and its indifferent attitude regarding the completion of the national highway passing through Dima Hasao. People of Dima Hasao in particular and the entire Barak Valley have been suffering a lot as the portion from Jatinga to Harangjao of the NH-54 E has been left uncared for 10-15 years. Some people also alleged that there was a nexus between the Project Manager of NHAI, consultant and the contractors to siphon off a good amount of fund in the name of repair and maintenance of the said portion.
