National Pension System: Awarness meeting on ‘March to Parliament’

A seminar-cum-awarness meeting for inspiring people to raise their voice for scrapping the National Pension System (NPS) and restoring the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) was held on Sunday at the New Bongaigaon Railway Institute.

BONGAIGAON: A seminar-cum-awarness meeting for inspiring people to raise their voice for scrapping the National Pension System (NPS) and restoring the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) was held on Sunday at the New Bongaigaon Railway Institute.

The programme was organized jointly by AIREC, N F Railway Pensioners’ Association & N F Railway Mazdoor Union where several noted persons, including Ashish Biswas, general secretary of NFRMU, Kanak Chandra Barman, working president of NFRMU, and Kallol Dev Sarma, c central organizing secretary of NFRMU, were present.

The meeting was presided over by SR Nandy, president of Pensioners’ Association, Workshop branch, where all the speakers appealed to people to participate in the fight for restoring OPS. “OPS is our basic right and we will fight until it is restored. For this, all the employees from all over India are going to demonstrate in front of the Parliament on August 10. We appeal to everyone to participate in the ‘March to Parliament’,” Ashish Biswas said.
