National recognition to project on raw banana

LAKHIMPUR: Emerging innovator of Lakhimpur, Upasana Baruah has once again brought laurels to the district as well as to the State by achieving national level success in her innovative field.

This time, the young innovator, who is one of the meritorious students of Kherajkhat Senior Secondary School, grabbed the success by taking part in the exposition of women innovation and its outreach sustainability (EWIOS), held on September 6.

In this national level event, Upasana's innovative project got selected as one among the best ten projects in the country. With this success, Upasana achieved the eligibility to take part in the international innovators' event, which will be held from November 16 to November 19 in Goa. In the EWIOS event, the title of Upasana's project was 'Food product from raw bananas, especially from Jahaji, Barjahaji, Chenichampa, Purakal and Bhimkal, used as a substitute for wheat flour'.

In the project, Upasana was assisted by Jajnoram Borah as mentor. Jajnoram Borah is the teacher of Kherajkhat Senior Secondary School. Agriculture Minister Atul Bora, Lakhimpur Deputy Commissioner Sumit Sattawan, Principal of the school, Biren Borah congratulated Upasana for her laudable achievement.
