GUWAHATI: A two-day national seminar sponsored by Indian Council of Historical Research, New Delhi in collaboration with Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Samiti, Assam and organized by IQAC, Bodofa U. N. Brahma College, Dotma on "Indian Freedom Movement and Assam: A Special Reference to Undivided Goalpara District" as a part of the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav was held on February 22 and 23. The seminar was inaugurated after the lighting of the lamp with the Saraswati Bandana by the chief guest Prof. Laishram Ladu Singh, VC, Bodoland University, Kokrajhar.
The co-ordinator of the seminar, Dr Shasanka Shekhar Sharma delivered the welcome speech. Afterwards the VC delivered his valuable inaugural speech. Then Dr. Prahlad Basumatary, Deputy Registrar (Academic) and Director of the Centre for Bodo Studies, Bodoland University delivered his attractive key note address.
As a guest of honour, Hemanta Dhing Mazumdar, Khetriya Sangathan Mantri, Uttar Purba Bharat, Akhil Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Yojana vividly pointed the mandate to write and re-write the history of Bharat with Bharatiya perspectives especially about the Indian Freedom Fighters of Uttar Purba Bharat including Assam, stated a press release.
