NCC North Eastern Region Car Rally reaches Lakhimpur in Assam

The North Eastern Region (NER) Car Rally of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) reached North Lakhimpur on Wednesday.

LAKHIMPUR: The North Eastern Region (NER) Car Rally of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) reached North Lakhimpur on Wednesday. The car rally has been initiated, as an outreach programme, as part of the diamond jubilee celebration of the NCC.

In North Lakhimpur, the car rally was flagged in by Lakhimpur MLA Manab Deka and 325 Cadets from various educational institutions under 8 Assam Battalion and 72 Assam Girls (Independent) Company NCC. In this connection, a function was organized at Lakhimpur Girls’ College under the auspices of 72 Assam Girls (Independent) Company NCC, North Lakhimpur. In the event, the cadets showcased their talent and diverse culture through group dance, group song and solo performances. Additional Director General NCC, NER, Major General Gagan Deep interacted with the cadets and emphasized on the role and opportunities provided by NCC in shaping a cadets life. The rally was flagged off by Vice Principal of Lakhimpur Girls College Robin Kakati for onward journey to Ziro and Itanagar of Arunachal Pradesh.

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) has been celebrating its diamond jubilee with this special outreach programme – the North Eastern Region (NER) Car Rally since November 6 to November 26. The car rally was flagged off by Conrad K Sangma, the Chief Minster of Meghalaya on November 6. The rally will reach Guwahati on November 26 after travelling a distance of approx. 3500 kms. The grand event is set to bring together a diverse and enthusiastic group with 277 schools and 151 colleges spread across 44 districts within 6 states of NER. The car rally aims for sense of camaraderie, leadership, spirit of sportsmanship, spirit of adventure and imbibe the spirit of patriotism among the youths, inspiring them to uphold the values of NCC.
