HAFLONG: The Chief Executive Member, N C Hills Autonomous Council, Debolal Gorlosa dedicated the newly-developed tourist destination around the Didaodip Waterfall, one of the popular tourist destinations of Dima Hasao, to the people ceremonially on Thursday.

The surroundings of the waterfall were developed by the forest and tourism departments. Located about 10 km from Maibang, the sub-divisional HQ along the NH 54 E, and only 2 km from the national highway, out of which 1 km is memorable and another one km has nicely constructed zig-zag steps downwards to the waterfall. A VIP gallery is there to watch the waterfall.

Earlier, CEM Gorlosa inaugurated the approach road to Didaodip Waterfall, the gallery and waterfall rest house ceremonially in presence of Ranu Langthasa, chairperson of NCHAC, and other dignitaries. For the development of the water fall, the villagers of Didaodip have given 40 bighas of land, said the gaon burah.

The concept of promotion of tourism at Maibang, Umrangso and Panimur was developed for generating employment for the youths. CEM Gorlosa said that innovative ideas, practical thinking and proper implementation with motivation were the prime means and ways of development.
