Haflong: Under the supervision of Samuel Changsan, Executive Member, N C Hills Autonomous Council, most households of Diger constituency received free food grains as promised by Chief Executive Member of NCHAC, Debolal Gorlosa, along with basic provisions like table salt and dry fish on Tuesday.
At a time when the entire world is feeling the effects of the outbreak of the deadly COVID-19, especially the daily wage earners and the poorer section of the society, NCHAC CEM Debolal Gorlosa had announced distribution of free rice to those belonging to BPL families.
While taking up the responsibility to bear any loss incurred by the department, CEM Gorlosa had instructed Dima Hasao, Food & Civil Supplies department, for free rice distribution to those who belong to BPL families
Earlier on Monday, EM Changsan with Maibang surveillance team inspected the home quarantine monitoring and stamping of seven boys working in a private company in Bangalore, who had returned to their villages in Didambara and Nablaidisa area recently.
Meanwhile, CEM Debolal Gorlosa has donated Rs 35 lakh to provide free rice and other essential commodities to the BPL families of the district, which are being distributed with the help of the Food and Civil Supplies Department. Nandita Gorlosa, Executive Member, donated Rs 1 Lakh while Sanjay Kr. Das and Ram Maheswari donated Rs 1 lakh and Rs 5 lakh respectively to the CEM’s relief fund, Dima Hasao.
