Nehru Yuva Kendra organised Fit India Freedom Run in Doomdooma

As a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the celebration of the 75th year of the India’s independence, the Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) organised the ‘Fit India Freedom Run’ at Doomdooma on Saturday.

DOOMDOOMA: As a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the celebration of the 75th year of the India's independence, the Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) organised the 'Fit India Freedom Run' at Doomdooma on Saturday. The run was formally inaugurated in the morning at Doomdooma Town Field by local MLA Rupesh Gowala. In his speech he spoke about the significance of the 'Fit India' programme taken by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of India. The inaugural session was also addressed by senior journalist Dinesh Goyal.

The run which began from Doomdooma Town Field, ended at the same point. Addressing the closing ceremony journalist Abhijit Khataniar explained the importance of physical exercises for keeping a person physically fit. He along with journalist Dinesh Goyal, Accounts Officer of NYK, Tinsukia Kamalapati Saikia , NYK Resource Person Mukunda Bora distributed the certificates among the participants. Around one hundred participants from seven Development Blocks of Tinsukia district participated in the run.
