Netaji's birth anniversary celebrated in Lakhimpur district

The 126th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was celebrated in Lakhimpur district in a befitting manner.

LAKHIMPUR: The 126th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was celebrated in Lakhimpur district in a befitting manner.

Netaji's birth anniversary celebration committee organized a series of events in the district from January 20. In this connection, an exhibition of Netaji's photographs and quotes was organized on that day near Deputy Commissioner's office. It was inaugurated by Upen Gogoi, the headmaster of Panindra Bidyalaya. On the other hand, a series of competition events on drawing and patriotic songs among the students were held on January 21.

On Monday in the morning, rich tribute was paid to the unique freedom fighter by garlanding his statue in North Lakhimpur town, near Deputy Commissioner's office. Then a section of youths and students took out a motor cycle rally and set out for Itanagar. There members of the rally arrived at Ganga HS School and participated in a open meeting organized on the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. The committee will conduct a seminar, cultural programmes and prize distribution ceremony in this connection on February 4 at Lakhimpur Jila Xahitya Xabha Bhawan.
