DHUBRI: Dr. Debamoy Sanyal took oath of office as the chairman of the historic Dhubri Municipal Board (DMB) while Ivy Lata Roy Mandal as vice-chairperson in the hall of DMB on Thursday evening. The oath of office was administered by Dhubri Deputy Commissioner Ambamuthan MP, and thus, BJP formed the board with strength of 11 ward members out of 16-member board.
Later talking to The Sentinel, newly-elected chairman, Dr. Debamoy Sanyal expressed his happiness over formation of board and promised to work for the well-being of the people.
"All the ongoing development works will continue while new projects for all-round multi layered development, including implementation of State and Central government schemes for cleanliness, roads, drainage, beautification and many others will be taken up," Dr. Sanyal said. Similarly, BJP boards were also formed in Gauripur and Golokganj. Golokganj is one of the newest boards in the State.
