Next Job Mela Will Be Held Online, Says Chandra Mohan Patowary

Guwahati: State skill, Employment, and Entrepreneurship Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary has said that the next job mela in Assam will be held online.

Speaking about the mismanagement at the recently held job fair, the minister asserted that though there were some problems in Guwahati, the other districts able to conducted the fair in a proper way.

Strict actions were take against those officials, who were responsible for the mismanagement, he said on Saturday.

''We are working on portal for this purpose as it will cater to employers and job seekers,'' he added.

The state government on Friday has suspended two senior government officials for improper planning and mismanagement of job fairs which were held in various districts on December 23. The suspended officials were Joint Director, Employment T Doungel and Assistant Director of Employment, District Employment Exchange, Guwahati, Lipika Datta.

"As per the direction of Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary, T. Doungel, Joint Director, Employment and Lipika Datta, Assistant Director of Employment, District Employment Exchange, Guwahati have been placed under suspension for improper planning, mismanagement and gross negligence of duty," an official statement said.
