NFR all set to start Vistadome train services in Tinsukia Railway Division

TINSUKIA: To promote tourism, the NF Railway is all set to start the state-of-the- art Vistadome train services in Tinsukia Railway Division between New Tinsukia and Naharlagun Stations in Arunachal Pradesh from October 23. The trial run was made on Monday between New Tinsukia and Banipur stations in Dibrugarh with senior officials of Railways and journalists on board.

The DRM Tinsukia, Bijaya Kumar Mishra told media persons that the 44-seated Vistadome coach had several unique features to attract tourists showcasing the pristine and picturesque landscape of the region. Though the first such coach rolled out in 2017 in Visakhapatnam- Akaru Valley, the services were extended to nine other tourist destinations, including New Jalpaiguri-Alipurduar and Guwahati- Haflong in NFR section, Mishra said. The scenic section offers breathtaking glimpses of tea gardens, River Brahmaputra in Bogibeel Bridge, rain forest before reaching Naharlagun. Elaborating the feature, Mishra, accompanied by Divisional Operating Manager Shuvam Kumar, said the coach was equipped with display screen, glass roof, wide window panes that will provide 3600 view of the open sky besides 1800 rotatable seats, besides wifi.

The services of New Tinsukia-Naharlagun 05907/05908 were discontinued during pandemic and will now run four days in a week- Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Thursday -with a Vistadome coach attached to it and the fare will be same as executive class of Satabdi Express, informed the DRM.
