NHM Assam is Ranked 3rd in Northeast for Disease Screening

NHM Assam received the third place from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).

GUWAHATI: Assam achieved the feat of the third finest performing state within the class of non-communicable illness and customary cancers screening amongst northeast, hilly and tribal states.

In the areas of non-communicable diseases and common cancer screening, it was recognised at the Universal Health Coverage Day ceremony in New Delhi.

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare awarded NHM Assam third place (MoHFW). The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare organised the event, which was backed by the National Health Systems Resources Centre (NHSRC), Jhpiego, and the World Health Organization-India.

Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Bharati Pravin Pawar, as well as senior officials from NHSRC, Jhpiego, and WHO-India, were present at the event.

The best comprehensive primary health care (CPHC) team members from each state were also honoured during the occasion. The CPHC team from the Piazbari Sub Centre-Health and Wellness Centre in Assam's Dhubri district received the prize.

The celebration was part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a month-long celebration of India's 75th anniversary of independence.

The event featured prizes for "Best AB-HWC – Primary Healthcare Team Awards," "Best Performing State/UT under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav," "Screening of NCDs and Common Cancers at AB-HWCs," "Creation of Digital Health IDs," and "PMJAY-NHA Awards."
