Nine test positive for COVID-19 in Baksa district

Sensation prevailed in Baksa district after nine persons of the district tested COVID-19 positive in one day.

BAKSA: Sensation prevailed in Baksa district after nine persons of the district tested COVID-19 positive in one day. Five persons are from the quarantine centre in Bathouguri Sports Complex in Mushalpur in Baksa district headquarters. They have been identified as Mrinal Das (Subansri ), Rupam Das (Bhogpara), Satoynya Das (Bagaribari) , Dwipjyoti Sarma (Subansri) and Sunil Bhuyan (Subansri) in the district of Baksa. All of them had returned from Chennai on May 23 and they had were quarantined in Bathouguri Sports Complex in Mushalpur. On the other hand, Dhruba Das (Nagrijuli), Gokul Badnet (Nagrijuli), Rajani Kalita (Ulubari) and Rajesh Chetri (Notun Howly) tested positive under Tamulpur subdivision in Baksa district. All of them have been shifted to Barpeta's Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital (FAAMCH) for treatment. Dhrub Das and Gokul Basnet were working in Chennai and they returned with 37 other persons from Chennai in a hired bus.

Dhruba Das of Nagrijuli told media persons over phone that they had reached Srirampur on May 21 in the evening. Health department workers conducted their health check-up and on May 22, and their swabs were collected on May 28.
