LAKHIMPUR: The Lakhimpur Zila Xahitya Xabha (LJXX), in collaboration with the North Lakhimpur Regional Office of the Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX) and Lakhimpur Zila Lekhika Samaroh Samiti, on Thursday observed the 83rd birth anniversary of Lummer Dai, a noted litterateuar in the Assamese language from the state of Arunachal Pradesh and Smriti Divas of former AXX president, Nirmal Prabha Bordoloi.
To commemorate both literary figures, a programme was organized at Lakhi Bilas Saikia Bhavan, the office of the LJXX, in a befitting manner. The agenda of the programme began with unfurling of the AXX flag in the morning at Khagendra Nath Saikia Kshetra. Then AXX North Lakhimpur Regional Office organizing secretary Apurba Phukan and LJXX legal adviser Dibyajyoti Hazarika paid floral tribute to the portraits of Lummer Dai and Nirmal Prabha Bordoloi.
Lakhimpur Zila Lekhika Samaroh Samiti president Jaya Senapati, former LJXX presidents Swapna Chetia Gogoi and Niran Kumar Borah and AXX North Lakhimpur Regional Office former secretary Indramoni Rajkumar delivered lectures commemorating Lummer Dai and Nirmal Prabha Bordoloi. The commemoration programme was chaired by LJXX president Umananda Baruah and it was held under the management of LJXX secretary Naba Kamal Borah. It was inaugurated by AXX dignitary Jagat Hazarika.
In connection with the programme, a Kabi Sanmilan was organized. Hatilongporiya Sakha Xahitya Xabha president Nripen Phukan chaired the Kabi Sanmilan wherein more than 30 poets of the district recited poems.
