No uncontrolled release of gas at Baghjan well no. 31: OIL India Limited

DIBRUGARH: OIL India Limited (OIL) in a press communique issued to the press, confirmed that there was no uncontrolled release of gas at Baghjan well no 31 at Tinsukia district in Assam as reported in a section of press in the State on March 8. Gas got released, the communique stated, during the operations to enliven the well which was controlled in right earnest.

Though adequate safety facilities are available at the site to handle such emergency, OIL has additionally stationed a fire tender at Baghjan area. OIL assures the people of the area that their wellbeing, health, safety and the environment is on top priority. OIL accords highest importance to safety standards and is equipped for faster response and early mitigation of any emergency situation. In order to enhance its robust safety protocol, OIL has already launched a special project named KAVACH to bring in transformational change in its operating practices.
