No Vehicle Day in Lakhimpur

The day was organized to raise awareness on global warming and climate change as a small effort to combat the daily carbon emissions in the atmosphere

LAKHIMPUR: Lakhimpur Commerce College has enforced a No Vehicle Day on the second Saturday of every month. As a result of it, all students, teachers and staff of the college refrained from bringing any motorized vehicles on Saturday and the premises of the college remained free from engine roar, honking and carbon emission.

Principal of the college, Dr. Lohit Hazarika, said that the day was organized to raise awareness on global warming and climate change as a small effort to combat the daily carbon emissions in the atmosphere. The programme was organized by the Transport Cell of the college and the coordinator of the cell, Professor Achyut Gogoi, thanked everyone for the successful implementation of the initiative.
